Martlets Place 6th at Founders

The Westminster Girls’ Swim Team had a fantastic Founders’ League Championship with many season and personal best times. The Girls’ began the meet strong with a top ten finish in the 200 Medley Relay (team composed of Ellie Pearman ‘25, Jennifer Weber ‘26, Hayden Schneider ‘25, and Sunshine Li ‘26). Schneider then swam hard in the 200 Freestyle to accomplish a season best time of 2:12.78, earning a 13th place finish. The next event saw Pearman drop four seconds from her season best time in the 200 IM. Pearman swam a 2:35.69, accomplishing 11th place. The girls’ 50 Freestyle was a strong event for the Martlets, seeing two personal best times from Cameron Perrillo ‘28 (29.98) and Isla Cauchi ‘28 (32.04). 

In the back half of the meet, Jennifer Weber ‘25 earned a 10th place finish in the 100 Fly, dropping four seconds from her season best time and swimming a 1:06.16. The 100 Freestyle saw some terrific personal bests with Jasmine Fu ‘27 swimming a 1:08.88 (a one second drop), Perillo swimming a 1:08.24 (a four second drop), Claire Hansell ‘28 swimming a 1:11.65 (a three second drop), and Cauchi swimming a 1:12.66 (a six second drop). In the 500 Freestyle, Schneider accomplished another personal best, earning a top ten finish in a time of 5:51.57. Caroline Hebbeler ‘27 also saw a marked personal best in this event, swimming a 7:08.70. Weber earned another top ten finish in the 100 Backstroke in a time of 1:07.23 and Pearman took an impressive 8th place in a time of 1:06.31. In the 100 Breaststroke, Lily Raskind ‘25 saw a fantastic six second drop (time of 1:23.88). The Martlet’s wrapped it up with a top ten performance in the 4 x 100 relay (team of: Hayden Schneider, Jasmine Fu, Jennifer Weber, and Sunshine Li.) 

Overall, nearly every athlete for the girls’ accomplished season best times and multiple top ten finishes were accomplished. The Girls’ have worked tremendously hard all season and should be so proud of all their efforts paying off!

The Girls’ look ahead to their final meet of the season, New England Championships on March 8th in Stamford, CT.
